It has been said that the mouth is the gateway to your overall health. Not properly taking care of your teeth and gums can lead to a variety of health problems. From loss of teeth and gum disease to heart disease and diabetes, oral health is very important.

To take good care of your mouth:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time. Practice good technique.
  • Floss once per day.
  •   Know when to replace your toothbrush.
  • Avoid sugary snacks and beverages.
  • Don’t smoke.
  • Visit a board-certified dentist at least once in 6 months.

Always give your dentist your full health history so that he can choose the right treatment for you.

How can we help you?

The entire team at Oasis Dental expects that our patients will have questions about the treatment they will receive for themselves and their entire family. We firmly believe that patient education is one of the most important aspects of maintaining good oral health for a lifetime, so we are happy to answer questions that will help clarify treatment options.

We know that knowledge will help patients make good decisions about their oral health. We are happy to take whatever time is necessary to talk about your questions and concerns regarding your teeth and mouth.

We hear some questions quite frequently from our patients, so we’ve included a number of those here for your convenience. If you have questions that are not answered below, however, do not hesitate to contact us for more information. We welcome questions and are happy to provide detailed information about anything that will help you keep your smile healthy and beautiful.

We realize dental treatment can be confusing and even scary, but it doesn’t have to be. We believe that arming our patients with knowledge is the best way to take the mystery out of dental care!

Preventive Care

Digital radiographs are considered one of the most important developments in dental technology. Digital x-rays also expose you to less radiation, making them safer and more accessible for all patients. Pregnant women, however, should let us know ahead of time that they are pregnant.
Even if you brush and floss every day, it might not be enough to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Plaque and bacteria can build up in places that you have missed even with the most conscientious home care.
Coming in for a professional dental cleaning every six months allows us to remove hard deposits that have built up, keeping your teeth clean and healthy. We can also monitor your teeth and gums to ensure that any areas of concern can be treated early when treatment is less invasive and less expensive.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal only needs to be done when there is infection and/or damage in the nerves or pulp of a tooth. The dentist will clean out the area and remove the nerve and pulp. These teeth are not as strong as normal teeth that have never had a root canal.
Protecting the tooth with a crown will prevent fracture.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic dentistry procedure and one of the most affordable. With in office teeth whitening, we use a whitening gel that contains moderate level of hydrogen peroxide.
A light is used to help activate the gel and precautions are taken to avoid sensitivity problems. From start to finish, the entire procedure only takes an hour, but the results will be substantial.
